Columbia City

This trendy neighborhood in Rainier Valley was named after the Columbia River and was first settled back in 1891. It is best known for being a historic district and some people claim that its Zip code, 98118, is one of the most diverse in America. Columbia City resides in the southeast Seattle area and is served by the Columbia City Link Light Rail station, which many people find extremely convenient on a daily basis. While this neighborhood area is occupied by countless amenities such as six bars, restaurants, multiple retail shops, a farmer’s market, it is noted though as a place with hardly any crime. Columbia City has been experiencing different developing projects within the past couple years that will have include a total of 900 new homes when it’s all completed. Other popular attractions in the area include: two art galleries, a book store, a Starbucks, a yoga studio, a locally-owned gym, a biodiesel shop, a fraternal clubhouse, and several community service centers.
