Named after a town in Nebraska and known locally as "The Center of the Universe" is the funky north central Seattle neighborhood of Fremont. The neighborhood is bordered by Phinney Ridge to the north, the Ship Canal Bridge and Queen Anne to the south, Wallingford to the east, and Ballard to the west. Fremont is home to a wide variety of clothing boutiques, brew pubs, book and music stores, quirky gift shops, parks, a fair-trade chocolate factory, a statue of Vladimir Lenin, and the locally famous Fremont Troll sculpture.
