Wedgwood
Named after the English fine china, Wedgwood is a quiet residential neighborhood nestled six miles northeast of downtown Seattle. Wedgwood is bordered by NE 95th Street to the north, 45th Ave NE to the east, NE 75th St and the Ravenna neighborhood to the south, and the Maple Leaf neighborhood to the west. The neighborhood was rapidly developed during World War II, when 500 Cape Cod-style houses were built on 40 acres for defense workers. Years later, Seattle's first P-Patch was developed, a peat bog was transformed into Dahl Playfield, and a small commercial district was established. Wedgwood is also home to University Prep School, All That Dance dance studio, Temple Beth Am Reform Synagogue, Top Pot Doughnuts, Grateful Bread Bakery, and numerous coffee shops, restaurants, and bars.
Wedgwood real estate is quintessential for families and individuals in search of a cozy retreat just minutes from downtown. Homes for sale in Wedgwood consist primarily of updated mid-century ramblers, Craftsman, and Cape Cod style homes that feature a large front porch, patio, stainless steel appliances, vaulted ceilings, kitchen backsplash, and hardwood floors. Real estate for sale in Wedgwood is appealing to those who desire to be a part of a small residential community that offers neighborhood gatherings and events and is surrounded by numerous parks and services.
