Greenwood

Greenwood is a small neighborhood in north central Seattle that up until 1907 was known as Woodland. The neighborhood is bordered by Broadview and Northgate to the north, Phinney Ridge to the south, Highway 99/Aurora Ave. N. to the east, and Ballard to the west. As the main thoroughfare for city streetcar and interurban passenger railroad traffic during the twentieth century, Greenwood Avenue remains the neighborhood's main drag to this day. Clothing boutiques, coffee shops, pubs, antique shops, various eateries, and the historic Taproot Theatre populate the community hub making Greenwood one of Seattle's most walkable neighborhoods. Greenwood also plays host to many popular community events including the Greenwood Classic Car Show, the Greenwood Seafair Parade, and monthly art walks.
