Lake City

Located 7 miles northeast of downtown Seattle along Lake City Way NE is the neighborhood of Lake City. Lake City has seen its share of settlers, from the hah-chu-ahbsh (Lake People) to city dwellers during the prohibition era. The Thornton Creek watershed is the focus of a long restoration campaign by Lake City residents and Seattle Public Utilities to enhance the neighborhood's appeal. A neighborhood mixed of residential housing and a diverse business district, Lake City is bordered by Cedar Park to the north, Lake Washington to the east, Wedgwood and Maple Leaf to the south, and Northgate to the southwest.
