Northgate

Northgate is a district in north Seattle named for Northgate Mall, the first covered mall in the United States. Quiet, tree-lined streets make up this neighborhood, offering residents quick access to local parks and gardens, a variety of shops and restaurants, a new 24 Hour Fitness, and North Seattle Community College. Northgate is in close proximity to Interstate-5 and Highway 99, and within a 20 minute drive of downtown Seattle. Development in the Northgate area has been accelerating at a rapid rate over the past 10 years. A new park, library, and community center opened in 2006, and in 2009 Northgate Mall was completely remodeled with additional retail stores. Metro bus lines run frequently to downtown Seattle, and the Sound Transit Link Light Rail is scheduled to start service in the Northgate area in 2021.
