The park covers the 300 forested acres of Bailey Peninsula that juts into Lake Washington, providing a 2.5-mile paved trail circling the peninsula, hiking trails through old growth forest, boat launches, playgrounds, swimming areas, and an environmental education center. The Seward Park neighborhood is bordered by Columbia City to the north, Beacon Hill to the west, Lake Washington to the east, and Rainier Beach to the south. The small business district offers favorite neighborhood eateries including Flying Squirrel Pizza Company, Zesto Burgers, Both Ways Cafe, and Caffe Vita.
